At Uhrenholt, we have a vast network of suppliers that we draw on to cater to customer needs and demands. Combined with our years of industry knowledge, we are able to offer solutions that meet these challenges. But in regards to the Americas region, our greatest point of difference is being able to consolidate goods from different producers and countries of origin. Although it is a challenging, almost impossible task, we manage to do this by knowing market rules and acquiring the right transportation documentation. In some instances, we are forced to pre-register goods or change labelling to live up to regulations. Our team seldom gives up when faced with problems and will use local contacts, authorities and embassies to ensure shipments reach their destination. Expanding Presence in the USA

The US dairy market is more or less self-sufficient and highly regulated by import duties and quotas. However, this doesn’t prevent Uhrenholt from doing business in this highly attractive market. Uhrenholt is registered in the US and we are able to every year obtain import licenses due to preferential treatment, because we have been present in the market for numerous years. We exploit these licenses through select local partnerships to the benefit of both parties. This allows us to import predominantly private label goods such as our Danish Havarti, Danablu and Fontina. In addition, we are diverging into niche markets catering to specific ethnic groups that seek dairy products from their homelands across the globe. These niche segments bring us exciting new business opportunities that we look to expand in the future in collaboration with valued partners.

All over the Caribbean, you will meet Emborg products in retail and foodservice. But in Trinidad especially, Emborg is the leading brand within the frozen vegetable and cheese categories. This is testament to the fact that since entering the market in 2005, Uhrenholt has continuously developed the product range and strengthened the brand through campaigns and activities. Our customers acknowledge our efforts and express that Emborg is truly differentiating with its purple brand packaging that stands out in retail stores. The result being that Emborg is no. 1 in the market and we will continue to do our utmost to make sure that it stays that way!

Emborg Purple in the Caribbean

Our Emborg purple packaging is one of our strongest branding assets. The colour is distinct and not very common among food products, which is why it stands out in-store as well as out-of-home. Consequently, to build brand awareness, we focus on creating a purple retail environment -  we offer Emborg in-store promotions, freezer decorations, shelf dividers, wobblers and top signs to ensure that purple is what first meets the customer eye in store. In collaboration with our partners, we also offer to decorate distribution trucks and other outdoor signage such as billboards. We aim to ensure that you cannot avoid noticing Emborg in the Caribbean!

Foodservice in Cancun

Since 2013, Uhrenholt has been supplying a wide assortment of cheeses to hotels in the popular holiday destination of Cancun, Mexico.

Especially Emborg Brie and Emborg Camembert have become very popular on hotel cheese boards resulting in an increasing interest for other foodservice products as well. 

We believe that this market has great possibilities due to increasing demand and look forward to following the developments in future. That is why we each year attend Pacsa Expo Nuevos Lanzamientos 2016. This trade fair focuses on foodservice and invites all the major hotel representatives including chefs and chief buyers to meet suppliers and sample produce – in our case cheese!
