Vegan cheese is one of the fastest growing cheese segments in Sweden with 45% of the population eating vegetarian food at least once a week. This trend is set to last as approx. 25% of Swedish people claim they will generally eat more vegetarian food year on year. Based on the increased market demand, Uhrenholt has ventured into the Vegan cheese segment offering sliced cheese variants Original, Mozzarella and Cheddar in the Emborg brand. Emborg Vegan is currently found in more than 50 COOP supermarkets across Sweden. However, Uhrenholt anticipates more outlets and markets will follow suit in the quest to match the needs of ever increasing food conscious consumers.
Uhrenholt Offers Organic Range
Uhrenholt attended GastroNord in Sweden in association with The Danish Agriculture and Food Council. The booth was creatively designed to signal organic, home grown produce in order to appeal to current market trends. For Uhrenholt the purpose of attending the fair was to display our new range of organic products to current and potential customers.
Amongst others, Uhrenholt works with organic partner NaturMælk with products such as “Hay Cheese”, which is produced with milk from cows that are purely fed on hay, which has been combined with up to 8 different herbs in the meadows! The unique Hay Cheese is here displayed by Uhrenholt sales staff.
Organic and specialty cheeses are gaining ground as they offer new additions to regular cheese board types, which is why Uhrenholt also offers organic cheeses to meet consumer demand.
Uhrenholt Poland Receives Award
In order to keep pace with today’s increasing competition, it is important to have close relations and make every link in the value chain work closely together.
It therefore gives us great pride that Elizabeth Rospara and Gabriela Kolkowicz from our Polish office have been given a special trading award by Mlekovita. The award is given as a symbol of appreciation of our partnership.
Although the partnership is fairly new, we have performed excellently on Whey Powder and Mlekovita has become a key supplier for the commodity department. The Whey Powder has primarily been sold to China and smaller volumes has been sold to Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.
This performance is totally in line with the corporate Uhrenholt values and we congratulate Elizabeth and her team on this award.
New Burgers in Sunset Boulevard
The Danish fast-food chain Sunset Boulevard extends their concept and introduces two new burgers on the menu - the Hereford Béarnaise Burger and the Double Burger.
With a desire to challenge the existing burger market and spoil Danish consumers with a little extra, a completely new line of burgers have been introduced, offering burgers with high quality ingredients - and cheddar cheese supplied by Uhrenholt.
Similar agreements have been made with other international fast food businesses, as Uhrenholt already has collaborations with fast food chains in Asia like Pizza Hut and Domino’s.
